Tissue Salts

Share and help others

Tissue Salts were first developed by Dr. Schuessler in the late 19th century. He was not only a medical doctor but also a physiological chemist and a physicist. These tissue salts are also referred to as mineral salts, cell salts and biochemic remedies.

The human body is made up of minuscule living cells and each cell is composed of three types of material; water, organic and inorganic substances. These three materials must be balanced within each cell for the body to thrive. If they are out of balance in the body it can lead to a lack of ease (commonly referred to as a “disease”) within the body.

Dr Schuessler developed his tissues salts based on the principal inorganic substances that are present within each cell. The cell uses these substances to repair and maintain itself thus allowing the body to function properly. Tissue salts are prepared in homeopathic form to an X (1:10 dilution) potency and most often to a 6x.

Tissue salts are used either as individual salts or may be used in combination. Below are the indications as to when each salt may be of use. Tissue salts support the body’s ability to self regulate and maintain homeostasis.

Tissue Salts are beneficial during pregnancy both for the mother and baby. They help the mother by supporting her body’s ever changing needs while at the same time they support and nurture the developing baby’s needs. It is advisable to seek the aid of a qualified homeopath in pregnancy to put together a protocol that will best support the mother and baby.

Always seek the advice of your healthcare practitioner if you have any health concerns.

Dose:

  • In acute situations Tissue Salts may be taken every half hour for six doses.
  • In chronic situations Tissue Salts may be taken three times a day.

Keep your Tissue Salts out of direct sunlight. Do not store near mobile (cell) phones or microwave ovens as their emissions may affect the remedy.
